Who runs this service

Bank Statement Analyser is built and run by founder Rethax and a small hyperproductive team. For any privacy question or deletion request, email support@bankstatementanalyser.com.

What we process

• The statement file you upload. It is processed in memory and is not written to disk or kept after the analysis finishes.
• The extracted result — transactions, balances and figures — saved for 24 hours so you can reopen it, download Excel or CSV, and ask questions. You can delete it sooner from your dashboard.
• An anonymous session cookie so this browser can see its own history and downloads. It is not tied to your name or email.
• If you unlock a password-protected PDF, the password is used in memory only and never stored.
• Your account email and a salted, hashed password — never the password itself. Logging in sets a session cookie so your history follows you across devices. Write to us any time to delete your account and its history.
• Your IP address, used to enforce monthly analyzer quotas and abuse limits.
• A statement you pick before signing up stays in this browser's storage for up to one hour, so it survives the sign-up step. It is not uploaded until you analyze it.
• Anonymous page-step counts (for example “opened the sample report”), with the referring site's domain. No cookie, IP address, or account is attached.

How long data is kept

• Statement files: not kept. They exist only in memory while being analysed.
• Extracted results: deleted automatically 24 hours after the analysis.
• Chat questions: not stored. We keep only a count, for the monthly limit.
• Bank layout notes: when a new layout parses, we keep its column names and header phrases so the next file from that bank parses faster. No names, account numbers or amounts.
• Your account and usage counts: until you ask us to delete them.
• Billing records (your plan and payment-provider customer ID): for as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Optional AI check

Some steps send extracted statement text — never the PDF itself — to our AI provider: fixing rows that fail reconciliation, labelling hard transactions, writing a short memo, and answering open chat questions. The provider's terms exclude training on this data, and we do not use it for training either. Totals are computed in our code. Digital statements that already reconcile skip the transcription step. We do not sell statement data.

What we do not do

• No card storage. Paid plans are checked out through Dodo Payments, our merchant of record. They hold the payment details; we never see or store card numbers.
• No advertising trackers on this site.
• No sharing of statement data with anyone except the AI provider above. Hosting, email, sign-in and payment providers receive only what their job needs.
